Gallery Closes
Jack the Pelican, one of the oldest galleries in Williamsburg, is closing. The gallery’s last show to be announced will run “from Saturday, February 20, 2010 for one, two or three weeks; maybe more, until the marshal comes and shuts the door.”
The Melanee Cooper Gallery, in Chicago’s River North gallery district, is being reinvented as a yoga studio (by the same owner). The former gallery owner, Ms Cooper, will continue as a private dealer.
